VoiceNote Terms of Service

Effective: August 20, 2026

1. Purpose

These Terms govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between LINGOKIT ("Company") and users of the VoiceNote service ("Service").

2. Definitions

  1. "Service" means the mobile application and related services provided by the Company that convert recorded audio into text and organize it into summaries and records.
  2. "User" means a person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
  3. "Account" means the identification credentials created to use the Service. Accounts are shared with TexTory, another service operated by the Company.
  4. "Content" means all data created or stored by a User through the Service, including recordings, transcripts, summaries, customer records, and schedules.

3. Changes to the Terms

  1. These Terms take effect when posted within the Service or on the Company's website.
  2. The Company may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable law, giving notice at least 7 days before the effective date (30 days for changes unfavorable to Users), stating the effective date and reason.
  3. Users who do not agree to the amended Terms may stop using the Service and delete their account.

4. Accounts

  1. Users create an account using an email address or another method designated by the Company.
  2. Persons under 14 years of age may not use the Service.
  3. Users may not transfer or lend account credentials to third parties and are responsible for damages resulting from inadequate management.
  4. Recording and local records are available without an account; server-based features (AI transcription, summarization) require an account.

5. Provision of the Service and Fees

  1. The Service is currently in an early access period and is provided free of charge.
  2. The Company may introduce paid plans in the future, with notice provided in the Service or by email at least 30 days before the effective date.
  3. Monthly usage limits may apply per account during the free period to ensure fair use of server resources. Limits are shown in the Service.
  4. Even after paid plans are introduced, access to Content already created by a User will not be restricted.

6. User Responsibility for Recording

  1. Responsibility for the lawfulness of recording rests entirely with the User. Users must verify and comply with the laws of the country or region where recording takes place, including all-party consent requirements where applicable.
  2. Where a recording includes the voice of a third party, the User must take the steps necessary to avoid infringing that party's rights.
  3. The Company is not liable for disputes or damages arising from unlawful recording by a User.

7. Rights in Content

  1. Users retain all rights in the Content they create.
  2. The Company processes Content only to the extent necessary to provide the Service (storage, transcription, summarization, display, backup) and does not use User voice data or transcription results to train artificial intelligence models.
  3. The Company does not access Content except as necessary for Service operation.

8. Prohibited Conduct

Users must not:

  1. Use the Service in violation of law or to infringe the rights of others;
  2. Interfere with normal operation of the Service (automated bulk requests, reverse engineering, exploitation of vulnerabilities);
  3. Use another person's account without authorization;
  4. Commercially resell the Service without the Company's prior consent.

9. Suspension and Modification of the Service

  1. The Company may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, equipment failure, or force majeure, giving prior notice where practicable and subsequent notice in urgent cases.
  2. The Company may modify or discontinue all or part of the Service, giving 30 days' notice before discontinuation and providing a means for Users to export their Content.

10. Termination

  1. Users may delete their account at any time via Settings > Delete Account in the app or by the method the Company designates.
  2. Upon a deletion request, the account is deactivated immediately, and stored Content is processed for deletion after the request is received. Information required to be retained by law is stored separately for the applicable period and then destroyed.
  3. The Company may restrict use or terminate the agreement after prior notice if a User materially breaches these Terms.

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  1. AI transcription and summarization results may contain errors, and the Company does not warrant their accuracy or completeness. Users should verify the original recording before making important decisions.
  2. The Company is not liable for damages arising from causes beyond its reasonable control, including force majeure and network failures.
  3. With respect to the Service provided free of charge, the Company is not liable for damages incurred by Users absent willful misconduct or gross negligence.
  4. Users are encouraged to maintain independent backups of important Content.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes shall be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
